This renovation project transforms a central Tokyo residence into a calm, cohesive home defined by the integrity of its materials. The 3.8-meter kitchen, crafted from solid wood with a hand-hewn texture, is built as an architectural element, allowing it to settle seamlessly into the space. A wall-mounted bench and TV board incorporate bespoke details — horse-leather cushions by Aomori-based〈GOBU〉and a ceramic serving board from Kyoto studio 〈TOKINOHA〉 — creating a quiet dialogue between materials, craft, and function.
In the bedroom, custom shelving and a built-in desk provide both functional precision and visual continuity. The refined joinery and the tactile presence of solid wood bring a sense of warmth and permanence to the otherwise minimalist interior.
