Our Meisters

For 40 years, our craftsmen have been working closely with solid wood, fully understanding its inherent beauty. Together with users, creators, and architects, they explore new expressions, helping to create one-of-a-kind spaces.

HANDCRAFTING SOLID WOOD POTENTIAL

Since its founding, WOOD YOU LIKE COMPANY has been dedicated to handcrafting, driven by our desire to express the true charm of solid wood. This natural material changes over time—warping, aging, and gaining depth. Each piece reveals a unique character that deepens with use, offering beauty that requires both skill and experience to handle.

Our master craftsmen embrace this complexity, unlocking the material’s potential through their trained eye, ergonomic design thinking, and deep understanding of wood species. From concept to completion, every step is shaped by care and craft—pushing solid wood beyond its traditional limits.

A UNIQUE COMFORT WITH SOLID WOOD

The ability to bring out the unique character of solid wood is a strength that comes with years of experience. By listening closely to the client’s needs, and offering our expertise as professionals of solid wood, we create spaces that are entirely unique. Whether for custom-made furniture or bespoke designs, clients can work directly with our craftsmen and concierges at our Omotesando showroom in Tokyo or at our factory in Akishima.

TOUCH, EXPERIENCE, AND FINALIZE

Our manufacturing process is based at our factory in Akishima, Tokyo. Here, clients can not only view prototypes of furniture and space elements but also experience the production process up close. By engaging with the actual products, clients can feel subtle nuances that might be lost in drawings, allowing them to refine the design until it perfectly matches their vision.

CARE FOR LONG-TERM USE

To ensure that clients can enjoy the deepening beauty of solid wood over time, we incorporate thoughtful craftsmanship into every aspect, even in areas that aren’t immediately visible. For built-in furniture and interior elements that are difficult to move, we carefully plan the structure during production. Through modular designs, parts can be replaced or repaired as needed. For transportable pieces, clients can bring them to our Akishima factory, or our craftsmen will visit their homes directly to provide careful maintenance and care.

We believe that the true beauty of solid wood grows through long-term use. From this belief, we sometimes offer alternative suggestions focused on durability while still aligning with the client’s preferences.
